An Outdated Dryer Vent From a Home in West Fort Worth

Homes built before 1980 often had dryer vents that are 3 inches instead of the correct size of 4 inches.  This was causing the dryer to give error codes and turn off instead of drying the clothes.

A Disconnected Dryer Vent In An Attic In North Fort Worth

An HVAC company installed the AC exactly on top of the dryer vent, leaving the lint to blow into the attic. The homeowner rerouted the vent to the garage as a short term solution before I came out.

The dryer vent was reinstalled and fastened into place in the attic.

The Newly Installed Dryer Vent In North Fort Worth

I was able to reroute the vent around the HVAC unit to the roof, secure the vent so it can support the weight of future lint,  and measure it for proper airflow from the roof.
